  • JOBS Act To Be Signed Into Law Today. Following a White House roundtable session on the soon-to-be law, President Obama will sign the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act today at 2:10 p.m.  The bipartisan bill enacts many proposals to encourage startups and support small businesses. It will allow Main Street small businesses and high-growth enterprises to raise capital from investors more efficiently, allowing small and young firms across the country to grow and hire faster.
  • U.S. Companies Fear They May be Left Behind When Russia Joins the World Trade Organization. According to a report today from The Wall Street Journal, “Election-year sparring could keep the United States from lifting long-standing restrictions on trade with Russia by the time the country joins the WTO this summer. As a result, U.S. companies wouldn’t receive the same legal protections against Russian tariffs and other hurdles to business that companies from other countries would gain, putting the U.S. businesses at a competitive disadvantage.” 
  • Spain’s Debt Problems Pushed European Stock Markets To Drop. After fading into the background for several weeks, tension over European debt flared up yesterday on the back of the weak debt auction in Spain, igniting a sell off around the world. Investors in Europe also have crucial U.S. jobs data to worry about, which will be released tomorrow.
